How it works?
BBG’s Ex-Pat Network works in two ways, both locally and in Your destination. These are best explained by a simple case:
Helsinkian Entrepreneur X is interested in the French market. X has only been to France on holiday, and does not speak the language too well. X contacts BBG to assist in examining the possibilities of establishing business in the country.
BBG Ex-pat Network matches X with French Y, living in Helsinki. They meet a few times and Y explaines the nature and opportunities in the French market. X decides to establish a business in France.
BBG Ex-pat network matches Finn Z, living in France to assist X in the practicalities of setting up operations in France. Z helps find an office on a respectable part of town, gives X contacts to trustworthy local lawyers, accountants and introduces X into the business community.
X gets a flying start in a new market, without having to struggle with the simple, albeit time consuming, everyday aspects of a new culture and environment.
The Ex-Pat Network
The network consists of individuals met during BBG’s travels, personnal contacts from our networks and of persons simply interested in meeting new people. Imagine yourself living in a foreign country – it might be nice to meet your country-men every now and then, or tell tell people about your homeland. And you might even get compensated for it!
Most of our Ex-Pat’s work pro bono, You might get their advice for the price of a cup of coffee or dinner. But as the questions get more specific and require expertise, it is strongly recommended to have discussion about a compensation, or a consulting fee. Many of the Ez-Pat’s do not have their own companies, they might be employed or retired – or even looking for new opportunities You could offer them.
If you are interested, contact us. There is a 250 euro charge for using the Network. The Ex-Pat’s fees vary based on the individual. The general operating principle is not to charge for general simple Q&A’s, but only for more demanding, specific topics requiring clear expertise in some field (i.e. consulting).
